We are a fully licensed bar and drinks service at Upwaltham Barns. Family member, Stephen Kearsey, runs the service as an integral part of the venue’s team, along with catering providers Nibbles2Nosh, who help to organise your special day and provide the wedding breakfast.
The Stable Bar is a cosy and inviting room with good access to the main courtyard and all the other spaces you will be using during your event. With its convivial ambience and a roaring fire on chillier days, it is a great place for your guests to meet up before the ceremony and perhaps to wind down with a night cap at the end of a long and exciting day.
Unlike many other wedding venues, whilst we offer some fantastic wines and good value packages, we don’t insist you buy your wines through us, nor do we charge corkage if you bring your own. That is not how we like to work. Instead, we offer a flexible and bespoke service; you can supply wines and beers for the reception and meal if you choose to, but we are required to supply the only bar and alcohol from the end of the meal to the end of the evening.
Generally speaking, our couples decide to leave it all to us or mix and match it, but whatever you decide to do, we are happy to use our experience to advise and support you, taking you through all the options as we help you plan the details of your wedding.
Bar Only: Mix & Match
This is where you provide your own drink for the reception, wedding breakfast and toasts. The team will, of course, give you any help and advice you need. It’s even been known for one of us to pop down to the off license with the father of the bride for extra supplies on the day!

Drinks Packages: Leave It All To Us
This means, as well as providing the licensed bar, we can provide your choice of reception drinks, wine for the meal and fizz for the speeches and toasts. We can even lay on kegs of ale, create unique gin bars or offer welcome cocktails for guests joining you in the evening.
